In 2021, community leader Michelle Kang noticed something missing from Suwanee’s event calendar, a celebration of the city’s rich and growing Asian community. Determined to change that, she launched the first Suwanee Asian Festival in May 2023 during AAPI Heritage Month, drawing more than a thousand attendees in its debut year. As the event quickly grew, it evolved into a citywide tradition with a dedicated team, expanded programming, and a bold new identity. Partnering with Blüm Creative Co, the festival reintroduced itself with refreshed branding, a vibrant new website, and a visual story that honors Asian heritage while bringing the community together through culture, food, and connection.
